Paul the Octopus iPhone Apps

Remember how enthralled we all were by this octopus? In no time there were iPhone apps, and games and Paul the Octopus became one of the icons of the 2010 World Cup.

According to Huffington Post, aquarium spokeswoman Ariane Vieregge in Oberhausen Germany, said Tuesday that Paul seemed fine when checked on late Monday night but was found dead in his tank Tuesday morning.

She says that it was normal for an octopus of his type to die at that age and that he had died of natural causes.

Paul the Psychic Octopus

His caretakers set him up to make predictions for a particular match by draping boxes in his tank with the national flags of teams that were set to play each other. The boxes contained octopus food. The caretakers divined Paul’s pick by watching to see which box he opened first.
