Mthatha needs a high Performance center for the  Sport in the area to improve. Negotiations are underway between Fezile Potwana and the CEO of the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital Dr Xhamlashe and they have partially agreed to put the center at the old Tembuland Hospital ( Gateway)

Lack of physical education knowledge within the teaching fraternity is the cause for the slow pace of sport development. There are few coaches that are professional trained in this field so they are not grounded on professional principles. The Department of Sport officials are under qualified especially in the O.R Tambo and Alfred Nzo Territorial Municipalities and this results in some codes not finding their feet and rugby is a victim

We are currently training an under 18 team of the Holy Cross Education Center in Ikwezi extension and we are very confident that 8 players from the squad will make it to the 2012 Craven Week. Next Friday we will conduct a Talent Identification Program with Mr Bayman the Head sport Organizer of the school

The Billion Group CEO Mr Sisa Ngebulana has been approached to assist in the development of sport in the area and a plan is underway to develop a sport academy at Nciphizeni in honor of the Late B.T Ngebulana. The community has handed over the land to the school for this project as it is envisaged that the project will cost about R15 million  during the construction phase and R700000.00 is assumed as running cost per year. The business planning entails income generating for the development squads and group retreat and church activities
