Durban Derby – MTN 8 – Golden Arrows beat AmaZulu 2-1

Posted by KAY-EL On August - 17 - 2009

In the first leg of this semi-final in the MTN 8 Wafa Wafa played at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban on Sunday, Golden Arrows beat AmaZulu 2-1.

Hero of the day is undoubtedly Richard Henyekane who scored a brace for Abafana Bes’thende who gave AmaZulu defence all kinds of nightmares with his clever running, especially in the first half. Usuthu created some good chances of their own but Litha Ngxabi only managed to pull one back for AmaZulu in injury time.

The second leg of this MTN 8 Wafa Wafa Semi Final will also be played at Chatsworth Stadium, with the match set for next Saturday evening.

Amazulu dedicated the game to their late defender Jan Silo, who played in their first league game of the season against Bidvest Wits, and tragically killed in a car crash.
